Megalodon teeth

MEGALODON TEETH FOR SALE

Megalodon—the “large tooth” shark—was the most formidable predatory shark ever to inhabit the world’s oceans. Reaching an estimated length of up to 18 metres, it lived for roughly 20 million years, from the early Miocene until its extinction at the end of the Pliocene, about 2–3 million years ago.

Fossil Megalodon teeth are found across the globe, with especially abundant material known from the United States and Indonesia, but also from Australia, Chile, France, Italy, Morocco, the Netherlands, Panama, Peru, Spain, and many other regions. These teeth are among the most sought-after marine fossils, admired for their size, shape, and natural colours.

Long referred to as Carcharodon megalodon, the species is now recognised as Otodus (Megaselachus) megalodon following ongoing taxonomic revisions.
